Junction FAQ

Which junction do I need for the NEC and Birmingham Airport?
Use T1 (Coleshill) at the southern end of the M6 Toll. T1 connects directly to the M42 J9, which is the standard route for the NEC and Birmingham Airport.
Which junction is closest to Tamworth?
Junction T3 (Lichfield south). T3 is on the A38 and is also the easiest exit for Drayton Manor theme park. T4 is closer to Lichfield itself.
Where is the toll plaza?
There are two mainline plazas. Northbound traffic pays at the plaza between T6 and T7 near Norton Canes. Southbound traffic pays between T3 and T4 near Lichfield. Local junction-to-junction trips that do not cross a plaza are charged via ANPR.
What is the speed limit on the M6 Toll?
70 mph on the open motorway, dropping to 30 mph through the toll plaza area. ANPR cameras are present for tolling. Police patrols enforce speed limits, just like any other UK motorway.
Are there speed cameras on the M6 Toll?
There are no fixed average-speed enforcement cameras on the M6 Toll itself. ANPR cameras read number plates for tolling and account billing. Police patrols use mobile speed enforcement, the same as the rest of the M6 corridor.
